On Tuesday 14th June, Churchill staff spent the day with Peterborough Sailability at Ferry Meadows in Nene Park.
Peterborough Sailability has been operating since 2006, and has 70 regular helpers who are all unpaid volunteers. They provide people with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy the experience of going out on the water and either relaxing or taking part in the sailing. In addition to the regular helpers they also rely on support volunteers to meet and greet, help sailors get ready and to launch and retrieve the boats.
Queensgate Shopping Centre has been providing support and volunteers to Sailability for the past three years. This year a total of 45 staff from Queensgate Shopping Centre will be supporting the charity, including 15 Churchill staff, many of whom have been every year. Queensgate Shopping Centre is managed by Churchill as part of our wider cleaning contract with JLL, which started last year.
Adam Payne was one of Churchill’s representatives on the day and says: “As the JLL Account Director I was delighted to support such a worthy cause for the first time this year along with our site manager, Matthew Keane.”
