Churchill attends Top Track 250 awards dinner

November 23, 2017

Churchill’s joint owners, Joel Briggs (Group Managing Director) and Phil Moxom (Director) attended the 13th annual Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 awards dinner in London.

The Top Track 250 league table recognises the UK’s largest mid-market growth companies. Touted as ‘One to Watch’ in 2013, Churchill made its debut into the rankings for 2017, placed 215th, and is the only multi-service solutions business to be featured – a fantastic achievement!

Representatives from some of the brightest and best companies in the country all gathered at the glitzy 5-star Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel – a fittingly impressive venue to celebrate the success stories that have shaped the business landscape over the past year. Companies in attendance spanned a vast array of sectors – with London City Airport, McLaren Automotive, and Travelodge to name but a few.

After some networking over nibbles and drinks, the evening commenced with gusto, kicked off by the first speech of the evening from CEO of Trainline, Claire Gilmartin. Following dinner, CEO of B&M Retail, Simon Arora, brought proceedings to a close. Topics of course strayed to the economic instability prompted by the ongoing Brexit negotiations; however, the overarching feeling of the night was one of optimism and resilience – in fact, the combined operating profits of all the companies in the 2017 cohort was an increase by 34% on last year’s.

As December rapidly approaches, last night caps off what has been a great year for Churchill. With new contract wins including London South Bank University, the Port of Dover, Network Rail and Arriva UK Bus, Churchill’s workforce now exceeds 12,000 people and our Group turnover has surpassed £145m. On top of this, we recently rolled out our new employee gateway, MyChurchill, which promises to streamline our management processes and improve our employees’ experience.

Joel Briggs, Group Managing Director comments: “We are going from strength to strength and to be acknowledged as one of Britain’s Top Track 250 organisations and to be the only soft-multi-service solutions business listed is a fantastic achievement for the whole Churchill family. I’m looking forward to continuing this success into 2018.”
