Churchill has successfully passed the first ISO 50001 surveillance audit since the initial implementation back in 2015. The three days of audit took place recently over multiple sites with a positive outcome being gained and no non-conformities identified!
We continue to better manage our energy consumption with the management system itself steadily maturing and integrating well into the other three management systems within the business – ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
Organisations certified to ISO 50001 are required to implement, establish and maintain a continuous standard of energy reduction. Being accredited enables Churchill to achieve continuous improvement of energy performance and demonstrates our commitment to eliminating energy waste. Successfully passing our first surveillance audit highlights how the whole business is embracing the accreditation and how important energy management is at all levels within the company.
Sean Hawe, Systems & Internal Compliance Manager, comments: “I am delighted that our first surveillance audit went as well as we anticipated. The first surveillance audit is a nerve racking time for everyone as it is the first chance to really see how well the management system has developed since its implementation, however this has been a very positive outcome all round. A huge thank you to all those involved in the audit and energy management process, your level of input has paid off!”
