Adherence to stringent health and safety measures when Working at Height is of paramount importance to Churchill. We ensure we get it right and embed a culture of ‘Safety First’; protecting our operatives and supply partners in delivering a best in class service for our clients.
We are committed to ensuring we are on the front foot; digesting the latest best practice advice, guidelines and techniques via leading authorities such as the City of London Corporation and attending regular industry events such as the London Working at Height Seminar.
We have recently attended the latest seminar (10 July 2017) at London Guild Hall which facilitated a platform for our industry to collaborate in the interest of safety awareness, best practice and knowledge sharing; as well as demonstrating a variety of our Work at Height methodologies and industry innovations.
The event attended by leading figures in the industry (such as Ray Cooke – HSE, Jeremy Simons – Head of City of London Corporation and Toby Thorpe – EHO) is largely aimed at Local Government Authorities, Procurement Professionals, Health and Safety Professionals, Building / Facilities Managers and all other professionals who have an interest in Working at Height within the City of London and beyond.
The captivating speeches at the event from the key speakers reinforced our long-held belief that there is a journey starting at design and construction of buildings, followed by property managers handing over safety critical information to service providers (i.e. Churchill) and finally, those service providers working collaboratively with supply partners to raise awareness and manage control risks associated with Working at Height activities.
Whilst we deliver our operational models day in, day out, our robust HSEQ department is working fervently behind the scenes ensuring the latest developments, thinking and innovations in health and safety are injected into and across our training and communication programmes as well as into our supply chains. Clients and supply partners can be reassured we continue to strive and reach for the very best protocols and methods in working practices to deliver a first class approach to health, safety and wellbeing.
Angelina Sooren, Group HSEQ and Compliance Director, reiterates: “We are dedicated to embedding a culture of ‘Safety First’ and getting it right first time, protecting our supply chain and ensuring we provide our clients with the best service levels.”
Angelina has just completed IRATA Level 1 which has given her a “…hands-on understanding in Working at Height and ‘activity in motion’. In addition, I am also looking forward to the IRATA Risk Assessment for Managers course due out in the near future.”
Angelina’s hands-on involvement is testament to the importance of embedding a safety culture from the top of the organisation throughout every aspect of our business model.
