New Regional Director – North East and Scotland

Churchill are delighted to announce our new Regional Director for the North East and Scotland, Louisa Clarke.

Louisa’s remarkable progression within Churchill (her fifth promotion in six years) has mirrored the meteoric rise of the northern region since she joined in March 2011, as Contracts Manager for the Tyne and Wear Metro contract.

At the time, this was the our only ‘northern’ cleaning services contract, but through Louisa’s dedication and experience, and the skilled mentorship and senior support offered by Mark Whyte, Operations Director, we have successfully grown the region to be one of the largest in our UK portfolio.

Louisa combined excellent leadership skills forged through a ten-year career in the RAF, alongside an intrinsic understanding of the service solutions industry, which included previous experience in managing service delivery at Durham Tees Valley Airport.

Louisa’s strong approach to quality, customer service and multi-stakeholder partnerships all unite to fundamentally transform the contracts we deliver. As a result, within 12 months, Louisa was promoted to Senior Account Manager, taking on greater responsibility for operational management across the growing North East region as well as being instrumental in new contract mobilisations and regional recruitment.

Mark Whyte, Operations Director continued to closely mentor Louisa, identifying her potential for future leadership roles. In 2013, Louisa was again promoted to Key Account Manager, widening her area of responsibility to include Scotland as well as the North East. Her progression continued with another promotion in 2014 to Operations Manager, managing the North East portfolio which was now in excess of £6m per annum.

Over the next two years, Louisa successfully mobilised, restructured and managed a significant number of large complex multi-site contracts which helped solidify our presence in the rail / transport, retail, education, and corporate sectors.

Louisa was rewarded with another promotion in 2016 as Regional Manager for the North East and Scotland with a portfolio exceeding £10m per annum. This role included full accountability for recruitment and development of our growing northern Account Management Team alongside her continued operational leadership.

Alongside Mark’s expertise and guidance, Louisa has seamlessly navigated the continual expansion of our northern region; overseeing the successful mobilisation, restructure and retention of key contracts such as Metro Tyne and Wear, Strathclyde Partnership for Transport, Queen Margaret University, Bernicia Homes, and Aldi. Similarly, her success and continued development in each new role placed her as the ideal candidate as Regional Director for North East and Scotland, and with it an impressive £15m per annum portfolio.

Further growth in the northern region, including the multi-million Arriva UK Bus contract won earlier in 2017, has seen the creation of this new role, with Mark Whyte, assuming a more strategic senior operational role across the business.
