Portfolio wins three-year cleaning contract with the Institute of Directors

Our Portfolio high specification cleaning service has won a prestigious three-year cleaning contract with the Institute of Directors (IoD) that will be mobilised when the IoD reopens after the COVID-19 pandemic. The Portfolio and IoD partnership will enable IoD members to return to the built environment in a safe and hygienic manner.

The IoD is the UK’s longest running organisation for professional leaders, having been founded in 1903 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1906. Now home to the Institute of Directors, 116 Pall Mall is a magnificent Grade 1 listed Georgian building in the heart of London. Featuring five floors of versatile spaces, the IoD welcomes hundreds of corporate occasions, private events, and weddings every year. The building is decorated with opulent décor, magnificent original features, and period charm which will be enhanced by Portfolio’s industry-leading service.

Adam Overton, head of facilities at the IoD, commented: “Portfolio was our partner of choice due to their leading approach to the utilisation of technology within the cleaning sector. We are delighted to have their expertise to support the reopening of the IoD, and coupled with a real focus on team commitment, we look forward to pushing the boundaries of innovation and diversity together.”

Through Churchill’s digital platform Mo:dus, sensor technology will drive cleaning schedules, with QR codes being used to manage desk sanitisation. Using Portfolio’s workplace hygiene programme PRISM, the IoD will be able to monitor bacteria within their building, and use data to adapt cleaning processes to create the most hygienic environments. This science-led approach will give people confidence that the IoD will continue to create fantastic environments for businesses to meet, network, and thrive.

Antony Law, managing director at Portfolio, added: “It’s a privilege to work in such an iconic building and with an organisation that has such a rich history. PRISM will give staff and occupants confidence that their workplace is both hygienic and safe, something extremely important in a post-Covid world. We take great pleasure in working with businesses that share our values and look forward to driving social value and diversity with the IoD. This project will require us to think innovatively, whilst operating both quickly and flexibly. We can’t wait to get started.”
