Building a sustainable future

As a nationwide facilities management business, we are part of nearly all communities across the UK which is why our goals are designed to give back and enhance local eco-systems.
Our objectives drive local accountability within the business and ensure that our strategy is embedded in our everyday working practices and underpin our decision making across all regions, divisions and functions.

Aims and achievements

Growing a Social culture

WellMe is a comprehensive internal wellbeing programme ensuring that employee wellbeing is a priority. It has five main wellbeing pillars which are in line with the company values; ‘always do right, always seek better, always put people first’.
Launched in November 2020, Mosaic is a four-pillar programme set up to ensure everyone at Churchill has a voice and an opportunity to steer and inform how the company is managed and run. Mosaic’s four principles include, understanding employees’ thoughts and feelings and the makeup of the Churchill family. Furthermore, a diversity and inclusivity committee has been founded to represent all groups from areas of the business, as well as community programme that supports under-represented groups in our communities.
Shining stars is our internal awards scheme aimed to recognise Churchill employees who demonstrate outstanding behaviour further embedding Churchill’s core values. These awards are nominated by managers, employees and clients allowing employees to be recognised for their commitment.
We support all areas of our society that are looking to develop skills or transition in to our industry. This includes young people, refugees and veterans and we support people through coaching and mentoring volunteering over 150 hours each month, skills and personal development and a buddying scheme when they join us. Visit our veterans page here.

We have developed our first management development programme ElevateMe. Our managers start the programme in their first six months and beyond, where we continue to provide them with ongoing development opportunities aligned to their role and career aspirations.
We’ve introduced Perkbox for our employees. At its core Perkbox is an employee rewards programme, where colleagues have access to a range of ever-changing discounts and a recognition space which can be used for ‘shoutouts’ to say thank you or to acknowledge the hard work of others by creating a public post that employees can comment on. This platform gives back to our employees and rewards their hard work with rewards of exclusive discounts and offers.

My Possible Self is an NHS-approved app created in conjunction with Priory Healthcare, the world leaders in mental health. It offers a huge range of interactive tools and techniques, using cognitive behavioural therapy - CBT - to help everyone flourish in the workplace and at home. There are checklists for tracking mood, physical activity and food and drink in order to provide insights to help users understand themselves better. There is also library of meditation audios, yoga sessions, sleep stories and podcasts on a range of health-related subjects.
We have an ongoing programme across all of our regions and businesses to train our employees to become Mental Health First Aiders. Last year we created 25 Mental Health First Aiders.
We have 75 apprentices across the Churchill Group, and last year we donated over £40,000 of our apprentice levy to help organisations with their own levy.
