Churchill Group receives RoSPA Gold Medal for health and safety achievements

We are delighted to announce that we have received a Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Medal. The Gold Medal is awarded to organisations that have received the RoSPA Gold Award for five consecutive years.

We won the internationally recognised award for our exemplary health and safety standards during the 2020 calendar year. The award is particularly pertinent considering that much of the year was dominated by the pandemic.

The Gold Medal is testament to Churchill’s consistently high health and safety standards over the last five years. These have been achieved across a variety of disciplines and sectors.

Organisations receiving a RoSPA Award are recognised as being world-leaders in health and safety practice. Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants vie to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running H&S industry awards.

Chris Williams, our group QHSE+S and director, said: “It’s always a wonderful achievement to win a RoSPA Gold award, and this might be the most meaningful win yet. This award is recognition of every single Churchill employee that has been a key worker in the fight against the pandemic – this win is for them all.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s achievements director, said: “RoSPA is very proud of the achievements of its entrants, and with this award we recognise the best of the best, those organisations that have gone the extra mile, raising the bar for the delivery of safety in the workplace. Employees, wherever they may be, should be able to go to work safe in the knowledge that they will return home unharmed and healthy at the end of every day. Our RoSPA Award winners are central to achieving this goal. By entering they are driving up standards and setting new safety benchmarks for organisations across the world.”

The majority of awards are non-competitive and mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Gold medals, president’s awards, orders of distinction and the Patron’s Award are presented to organisations sustaining the high standards of the gold level over consecutive years.

The RoSPA Awards virtual ceremony will take place on Thursday 9th September. For more information about the RoSPA Awards, visit www.rospa.com/awards.
