Plastic reduction

We are implementing the updated PVA range across our client sites. To date, these products have helped us to eliminate over 200 tonnes of plastic waste. To complement this effort, we have also introduced a closed loop delivery system for some products, greatly reducing waste and further increasing the efficiency of our supply.

Waste management

We partner with a handful of waste companies who we have selected for their commitment to sustainability, both on our customer sites and our own facilities. We offer a range of innovations for waste management which keep waste as high up the waste hierarchy as possible. As an example, we operate a Mobile Segregation Unit (MSU), installed into a major national transport hub by one of these partners, which yields recycling rates in excess of 90% on what was a very complex waste stream.

Science based targets

The validation of our near-term science-based emissions targets by the SBTi is a significant milestone in our journey to Net Zero by 2040. By setting science-based targets, we have firmly committed to reducing our emissions on a trajectory aligned with the Paris Agreement’s ambition of limiting global temperature increase to 1.5oC. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change warns that global warming must not exceed 1.5°C to avoid the worst impacts of climate change.

CDP

CDP is a not-for-profit global platform for carbon and sustainability disclosures. Each year, we report our complete GHG inventory findings and progress updates via CDP. Currently, our CDP score is B, “Taking coordinated action on climate issues”. This score is above our sector average and wider global performance, but we aim to improve this in coming reporting periods nonetheless.
