Welcome to our Shining Star Awards page. Created to complement our group-wide Shining Stars recognition scheme, which celebrates our colleagues who reach for the stars. At Churchill Group, we believe that exceptional work deserves to be celebrated. That’s why we created the Shining Star Awards, a recognition programme dedicated to shining a spotlight on the passion, dedication, and commitment our colleagues demonstrate every day.

The Shining Star Awards celebrate the incredible people who embody our core values and consistently go above and beyond. Whether it’s delivering outstanding service, driving innovation, or supporting their teams, these colleagues make a real difference to our business and communities.

Monthly awards

Each month, individuals who demonstrate our values in action are nominated and honoured as Shining Stars. This ongoing celebration of everyday excellence ensures that contributions big and small receive the appreciation they deserve.

The programme applies to all regions within our cleaning business, as well as our transport and Make Ready divisions, including Amulet, CES, Chequers, On Verve, JV Price, and shared services. We want everyone to get involved in this programme to help us identify who our Shining Stars are.

Once a year, we come together to celebrate some of the most inspiring stories from across Churchill Group. The ceremony is a special occasion to reflect on achievements and recognise those whose dedication has made an impact.

Our 2025 winners

At our 2025 Shining Star Awards, held at the iconic MK-7, The Red Bull Technology Campus in Milton Keynes, we celebrated the outstanding contributions, talent, and dedication of our team. Joined by over 150 colleagues and clients, the event was filled with energy and pride as we honoured the achievements that drive our success. The event celebrated our outstanding finalists and remarkable winners, all of whom exemplify our core values: Always Do Right, Always Seek Better, and Always Put People First.. 2025 annual award categories

Trailblazer Award (M&A)

Trailblazer Award (M&A) This award category is open to all M&A employees, regardless of location or length of service. It recognises individuals who have made a significant impact on the business by embracing or leading new initiatives, showing entrepreneurial spirit, and driving positive commercial outcomes. Nominees will have challenged conventional practices, contributed unique and innovative ideas, and demonstrated outstanding dedication and loyalty to their site or department, such as through contract retention, business growth, or major project implementation.

Everyday Hero (support services)

Everyday Hero (support services) This category is open to all support colleagues and celebrates individuals who consistently go above and beyond in their role. These nominees are recognised as role models within their teams, actively sharing knowledge and inspiring others. They drive continuous improvement and innovation, deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers, and show a strong commitment to personal development. Their positive influence helps shape and enhance the culture of their team or department.

Everyday Hero (frontline) Someone who has had a profound impact on the business; accepted, or led new challenges or initiatives; Demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit that has driven a positive commercial impact; explores beyond horizons, challenging current practices and behaviours; has made a unique and innovative contribution; demonstrates exceptional dedication and loyalty to their site/department.

Dream Team Award

Dream Team Award This category recognises outstanding sites or teams of any size that excel in client relationships, customer service, teamwork, and innovation. They uphold company values, support colleague development, and maintain full compliance with operational standards. This year, teams were selected rather than nominated.dedication and loyalty to their site/department.

The Inspirer Award

The Inspirer Award This category is open to any employee with direct reports, whether site-based or in a support function, such as Supervisors, Team Leaders, Managers, or Directors. It celebrates natural leaders who set a clear vision, inspire their teams to succeed, and take full ownership of individual and team responsibilities to deliver outstanding results. These individuals prioritise colleague development, succession planning, and well-being, while also challenging the status quo by exploring new ideas and successfully implementing innovative solutions.

To The Moon & Back Award

To The Moon & Back Award This category is open to all employees who consistently demonstrate excellent customer service and actively promote a service-led culture within their business. They show initiative in their role, maintain a warm and genuine approach with customers, and take responsibility for giving constructive feedback to encourage positive service conversations. These individuals support and coach others to meet high standards and use customer feedback to develop innovative ways to enhance the overall service experience.

The Talented Newbie

The Talented Newbie This category is open to all employees with less than two years’ service who deliver outstanding service to both internal and external customers. They consistently go above and beyond, show commitment to continuous personal development, demonstrate skill and innovation, and positively influence the culture of their team or department.

Star of Stars (M&A)

Star of Stars (M&A)This category is open to all colleagues and operates through monthly nominations. Each month, the Managing Directors review the nominations received and select one nominee to be put forward for judging in the annual awards.

Star of Stars (frontline)

Star of Stars (frontline) This category is open to all colleagues and is based on the monthly nomination awards. Each month, the Managing Directors receive the nominations and choose one nominee to advance to the annual awards judging.

Impact Employee Award

Impact Employee Award This Award recognises colleagues who demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability and responsible corporate citizenship. They drive initiatives that reduce environmental impact, promote diversity and inclusion, support community service, and enhance employee well-being, while actively championing company ESG goals.

Exceptional Achievement Award

Exceptional Achievement Award Open to both teams and individuals, this category recognises exceptional acts that don’t fit into other categories but stand out in their own unique way.
