Churchill highly commended in the Golden Service Awards 2022

We are delighted to announce that the Churchill Group has been highly commended in the ‘Going the Extra Mile’ category at the Golden Service Awards 2022. Our entry was for our Make Ready work with the South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS).

Make Ready is a system which sees ambulances prepared by a dedicated team of specialists who clean, restock and check the equipment on ambulances before the beginning and at the end of every shift.

The category was for businesses that went above and beyond during times of adversity. Judges were looking for clear examples of:

  • The adversity and its impact on daily life
  • The impact it had on the cleanliness operation
  • Measures taken to overcome the adversity
  • Measurement of the success of the measures taken

The Judge’s comment: “The staff at Churchill have gone above and beyond through these times of adversity. Teams have had to retrain in all aspects of their jobs to help the Ambulance service save people’s lives. Thank you for the work that you did and continue to do.”

Rufus Fidgeon, Operations Director at Churchill, commented: “Every single Churchill employee working on the SCAS contract really stepped up over the last two years – the team’s workload increased by 335%. We provided an additional 4,000 hours to assist with the extra work loads brought about by the pandemic, including additional vehicle packing requirements, PPE and decontamination of equipment.

“We’re delighted to have been highly commended as recognition for the positive impact that our work has had on Make Ready at SCAS.”
